Any one own or has used this impact wrench? I got a gift card to snap on and Im really considering this. I don't own or have space for a compressor so air tools are out of the question. Any info is welcome.

thanks

I meant Snap on CT4850ho

I have the ct-4850 HO, Ni cad..... Works as good as my 600 ft lb IR air gun, batteries charge fully in about 15 minuites. I use it at the track, my father uses it every day as an AAA roadservice gun..... destroys a dewalt, milwaukee or pretty much any other gun by far. (we have tried all)

That tool kicks ass...it's "on sale" right now for $555. They also offer it with the upgraded lithion ion battery, and now have it in different colors (green, yellow and orange...I want green :D ). I don't have this gun yet, but a couple of guys at work do and I've used theirs. I plan to get one once I get my SnapOn bill down from $1100 to about $500, so I can send it back up to $1100 lol.

go to sears and get an IR titanium. you wont be disappointed, and you'll spend less than half. IR makes matco and mac's stuff

spend the gift card on something like wrenches or sockets that are of much higher quality than mac/matco/craftsman. that's where snapon's technology is. as a mechanic and having used all main company's stuff, i like the IR type air tools, and snap-on;s hand tools.

I have one, best 500 dollars you could spend on a tool. Great to have if you tow toy trailers a lot.

Snap on screw guns and electric impacts are just black and decker with snap on name. They wont warranty it also. The snap on air impacts are another game they haul ass.I never had luck with electric impacts I always break them.

What kind of facts do you have to back up that statement?

They actually do but it is not a "rebrand". They are contracted to design and build Snap-on's cordless stuff.

When I took the chuck out of the snap on one it was identical to black and decker one I brought at home depot at my snap on dealers request.

So you went out and bought a brand new black and decker cordless, then you opened up both of them just to see if it is identical? I call BS on this one, unless you got proof. I don't think your snap on guy is dumb enough to do something like that and lose a sale. They make a living selling their inventory of tools. You have a nice story that has a few holes you need to address sir.

keep telling yourself that......

if thats the case, black and decker sure as hell kicks the shit out of IR, dewalt, and milwaukee guns, with about twice the balls.....:eyes::punch:

Well after much reading and deliberations, I went ahead and ordered the CT6855,the version that comes with the lithium battery. I will report back with the findings once the tool arrives and is put to its first job this weekend.

Got the tool and I am very happy with it. Thus far it has gone through several jobs without issue. Took down pinion nuts, ring gear bolts, some suspension bolts and lug nuts without issue.

Im so impressed that I will be getting the CT4410A as well.
For a "Black & Decker in disguise", it sure does a great job!

Not to be a dick but this is extremely common in the manufacturing world. Snap-on outsources a lot of their products. Craftsman is probably the worst at this, they outsource a MAJORITY of their products. But when you outsource something you specify what you want... the company just manufactures it for you.

I don't know if this exact instance is true, but it wouldn't be suprising even if the Snap-On was much better then the B&D. Snap-On puts out a bid, the bid has to meet Snap-Ons requirements, and B&D MFGs it.

There's not that many tool mfgs, you'd be suprised who makes who's tools...

It's not hard to believe, B&D gets a bid, they go to a better electric motor mfg (none of them make these), they have their case supplier bid a better case, etc etc etc...
