Default shifting problems

I just put a rebuilt trans in my car and it shifts just as notchy as the old trans. When going throught the gears with the car off, with clutch in or out it feels the same. My setup is LS7 clutch, tick master cyl. Clutch, slave and throw out bearing have 40k miles. Thoughts???

Just so I understand you correctly, you installed a brand new rebuilt trans and decided you should re-use your 40k mile slave cylinder?

A synchronized trans. is gonna feel a bit notchy even when properly working. Now overly notchy could be a result of a clutch not being fully disengaged and over working the synchros.

I'd readjust the tick. You might have to let it out some more to ensure the clutch is fully disengaging.

yes i did reuse a slave cyl with 40k on it,don't see how that is such a bad thing. I just thought it would it shift smoother seeing that it's new,but I will play with the ajustment on tick. Thanks

its a good idea to replace the slave any time the trans is apart.. after all it is a pretty cheap piece you should have just put a new one in
