A friend of mine and another guy from a local forum were out settling a little dispute, so I tagged along with another friend to get some footage.

RED Z28- a4, lid, longtubes, ORY dumped for the axle, shitty stock 2.73 gears
Ion Redline- m5,80# injectors,2.8 pulley (17psi), shorty header to 3inch catted downpipe, 2.5 catback, k&n CAI, zzp heat exchanger with option b and tuned on e85
95 Z28-a4, magnaflow catback, stock 3.23 gears
me- m6, lid, LS6 intake, longtubes, true duals, tuned, 3.73s.

Settling the callout:
RED Z28 vs Ion
40 roll:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6fzcH7rqPo

DIG:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDxsbGtHA-0

...Ion had passenger for the DIG.

I wanted to see how I'd run vs this guy since he did good against my shitty geared friend. 45 isn't the best spot for me, not too mention he jumped a slight bit early and said he wanted me to have a passenger (he didn't have 1) because he "needs every advantage" he can get, as he put it.

ME vs ION
45 roll:

Rematch of an old race...95 Z28 vs RED Z28. The other race suprised us, both stock here (old race):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWMSzvZmL8Y

So we did a rematch to see what the difference is now with each having their new mods. (new race)

Gotta hand it too that saturn driver: guy knew his shit, launched perfectly (perfectly means some would say he jumped a little early, but NO ONE would think he jumped so early that they wouldnt still try to run him down). He picked speeds that had his car at its optimum speed for the gear, etc. That first run the guy in the red Z28 screwed the pooch on both the honks (he was a tad late) and being at the very top of 1st gear: he was shifting after 1/2 second.

Nice vids and runs, keep them coming! Us wet n cold Northerners go into hybernation during these winter months... I can't find a legit race to save my life: seems I'm the only one in Washington State that drives a legitimately quick daily driver in the winter. :(

^what he said,I don't know why you would be in 1st for a 40 roll lol,he was all ready shifting right after the 3rd honk which he was lagging on also, saturn runs pretty good, but the ion like you said sticks knew where he wanted to be at.

I was out in shorts and a t-shirt when we did these. It was like 65 degrees then and like 75 earlier than day (and week). Now it's 45. :(

I guess I say he jumped early only because I go after the 3rd, always. I see where people would say it's leaving the right way, just different ways of looking at it. I should clarify that next time I race I guess. Oh well, didn't affect the outcome really.

We don't like broke ass cars. :engarde:

:) Down for the winter or something actually broke? I'd like to make a trip out there before the weather gets too nasty. I'll talk to Brendon (Brad's girlfriend's brother) and see if he wants to come too. Any idea what this subie would run? I'll run him from a dig if it would be a better race than a roll, and I like digs better anyways. I <3 STi's.

Good vids. I can only imagine how bad traction would be for me now.

Pretty sure its a broken tru crap in the rear. The subie is quick but kid never runs at the track and is torn up pretty much all the time and 3rd gear is a little shitty like a said its tore up. haha. so he would have to shift slow into 3rd which is no excuse to me :D

.

Actually I found out today. I ran a blue 5.0 Cobra from a 50 which is a horrible spot for me in 3rd and too high in 2nd. I had about 100 extra pounds of work supplies in my trunk. I got pulled a car from 50-100. I started to come back when I got in the meat of my power, but by then the damage was done. It was just nice to waste some gas before it gets cold.

Hmmm, I'm assuming this Cobra had a good amount of stuff done to pull on you, even in a bad spot.
