Default Swapping to LS6 pcv got a quick question

Going to swap to the LS6 pcv. I currently have the LS6 intake with the ridges removed and LS1 coolant lines. Im wondering when I do the PCV swap are the LS1 coolant lines going to be in the way?

When I did my LS6 Valley Cover/Intake swap to my 99 Firebird I removed the factory coolant lines that ran under the intake.

Every thread that I had read told me they wouldn't fit between an LS6 Intake and LS6 Valley Cover. So what I did was purchase two front coolant lines and ran one at the front and one at the rear of the engine. I simply plumbed some 1/4" Fuel line from the rear tube to the front and connected them with a "T" Fitting and then on to the Radiator. Turned out pretty well.

This was my first and only experience with installing an LS6 Intake, so I haven't ever tried to run the LS1 Coolant Lines under the LS6 Intake. That being said, I don't see why you couldn't just remove the ribs and flatten the lines a bit to make it fit the same as if you retained the LS1 Valley Cover.

The only thing that may prevent this would be if the orifice on the LS6 Cover would interfere with where the coolant lines run. Other than that, you have the same amount of room between the intake and valley cover no matter which VC you're using.

I'm happy with the way mine turned out, but retaining the factory lines would have been a bit more simple and saved me a little money.

Try it and see.

If you remove the ribs under the manifold it fits over ls1 coolant lines, it has been done for a while. That's how mine is and it works great.

Nope. But you will need to change the coolant crossover lines. Look here:

you can use either the LS6 coolant lines or your LS1 lines if you want....the LS1 lines require the shaving of the fins

I just used a hammer and chisel and tapped the ridges off the bottom side of the LS6 intake

Props. That sounds like a nice cost cutting measure. The only minor concern I'd have is taking off too much or weakening the IM. Unlikely that that would be a problem imo.
