Default Need Some Wheel Help

I'm in the process of installing my rear end and am going to have to order some new wheels soon. But heres the deal, I would like an 18x11 for the rear and an 18x9.5 or 10 for the front. And to make it difficult I'm installing a 4" narrowed rear end (2" per side)

Now I would love to get a set CCWs or some other higher end wheel, but my budget just won't allow it right now. I can swing about $400 a wheel but thats getting pricey. I know that I really don't have a choice since I'm going with a custom offset instead of an off the shelf wheel for these cars.

So I'm looking into the Torque Thrust M wheels in the grey color, but they aren't offering a 11" rim in the 18s. And they aren't exactly what I'm looking for but I can deal with them for a few years until I get into a better money situation, or maybe they will grow on me and I'll love them on the car. So if I get the TTMs I'll probably get 10s for all 4 corners and offset the tire size a little bit to give it the right look, plus the rear wheels will have a nice big lip on them.

And can someone help me with the right offset? Like I said the wheels will have to have 2" less backspacing because of the narrowed rear. I want to get this right the first time.

So if someone knows of a place to get wider 18s for a decent price please let me know, and the backspacing help would be appreciated

I was thinking about this last night and what about getting the 10s for all around and then sending the rears out to be widened 1 or 1.5" How does widening and how much does it cost to do a pair of wheels?

Also I found Boyd Coddington wheels on ARs website and the junkyard dogs are a badass wheel and I like the smoothie II better than the TTMs and then theres the magneto wheels, those look good too. I just have to look around and get the right backspacing for the front and rear. And I think that would be 6" on a 10" wheel right??

Ok how about a little bit more technical question....

18x9 with 6.4" backspacing? Will it work or will it stick out?

18x10.5 with 6.6" of backspacing on a 4" narrowed (overall) rear? Will it fit or stick out?

For the 9" front wheels you'll want at least a 6.37" bs (+35 offset)for them not to stick out. so the 6.4" bs will work just fine.

11" wide wheel w/2" narrowed rear -6 offset. It'll fit like a +45 offset on a normal width rear.
You'll also want a -6 offset if you go with a 10" or 10.5" rear wheel.

FYI, 18 x 11s are likely going to be in a more then a $400 wheel, you could easily get a 17 x 11 in the BC Junkyard or Magneato wheels.

I could settle for a 10.5" rim for now, but I hear you on the price. But if I can get a better deal on the fronts I could spend a little more on the rears, but either way I look at it I really can't find an 18x11 unless I get CCWs, Fiske, Bonspeed, Boze, or any other custom wheel manufacture.

And I'm only finding the BCs in 17x10 The last wheels on my post above I can get in an 18x10.5 but they are a +20mm offset so I do not think that they will work. I think that they would stick out about 1/2" I could always narrow my rear more since I don't have axles yet, but thats just one more added cost just to get a set of wheels to fit that I kind of like. Or they may be ok, some guys are running a 1/4" spacer to get the wheels to sit out a little bit, but thats only 1/4" not 1/2"

I was going to stick with 17s, but my buddy has 18" saleen wheels on his mustang and it looks great, then he parked next to me the other day and man do 18s make 17s look little LOL But then again I would save quite a bit of cash staying with a 17" wheel and tire package.

I guess the hunt continues, maybe I'll just order the 18x10.5" wheels in the last pic and see if they will work, if not I'll send them back and know that its not an option.

What about offset on an 18x10 for the front? I found a place that has some badass wheels and I can get custom offsets done, but $3100 a set I can get 11s for the rear and 10s for the front. Nice flat lip with no step in it

And damn are 18" tires expensive, I think they will end up costing me my first born by the time I'm done, jeez what did I get myself into

18 x 10 up front, some where within this range: +50(in more) to +40(out more).
