Default Looking to MOD 04 GTO M6

I know that this is my first post but not a newbie. I sold my last LS1 back in 2004-2005 and just didnt remember my login. Quick questions around what mods that I should do. I have been researching heads day and night with different cam options, etc. I have already purchased the headers(pacesetter longtubes)/exhaust(SLP Loudmouth)/cai(new era) but still need to get H/C/I. I have really been leaning towards the PRC 2.5's with the TSP Tsunami Camshaft: 235/240, .648"/.609", 111 LSA. Seems like a great package but might be useless without a good intake(by default, I'm looking at the LS6 with maybe a LS2 throttle body). I have thought about just buying a good used set of LS6 243/799 and having them cleaned up with upgraded valves and springs which will leave me extra money to get a FAST and ported throttle body. I just don't know if I'm going to get the power gain out of the 243's to reach my end goal. I would like to get as close to 450rwhp and a good torque reading in the end. This is a budget build car so I'm really only looking to spend about $3000-$3500 for parts(including tune) upfront. Let me know your thoughts.

That would be a great idea if I didn't already have the car. I bought the car over 2 years ago and have been rolling stock with some 18's. I looked at a few LS2 when I was buying mine but I picked up the 04 for under $15k and I was looking at around $24k for an 05/06. The price just didn't see to be worth the additional HP when you have essentially the same car. To clarify my original question, I'm basically trying to determine if I would gain more power with LS6 heads and Fast intake/TB or would I have more power gains going with PRC 2.5 5.3/LS6 heads with a used LS6 intake/LS2 TB? Is anyone running a similar setup to this that is acheiving the HP that I'm looking for?

Well the fast combo will net you more hp. Ls6 heads are a great budget head just get them milled and a valve job. If you can afford it tfs as cast 220s are nice. A custom cam from futral or eps should get you there if the motor is healthy

I was actually hoping to maybe get a response from the folks at TSP or PP. I called TSP and felt like the guy was put off by my technical questions around their head/cam package.

Fast 102 won't be worth it on your budget. Spend the money on better heads/cam.

I appreciate the info. I'm going to stir away from the Tsunami cam after watching a video of one in a camaro. Cam is a little more wild than I'm looking for. I'm going to do heads and cam and see where I end up. Now I just need to find some heads. I wonder where I should acquire those?

Advanced Induction and TEA would be my ported OEM head choice among sponsors.. Start searching the classifieds and pick up a used 90/92 if you want to upgrade your LS6. Your LS6 will still bring $3-350 to offset that cost. Just be patient...

Are you saying that I should look at the TEA LS1, LS6 or 5.3 heads? AI, LS1 or LS6?

Stg 1.5-LS1 $1,250.00
Stg 1.5-5.3 $1,499.00
Stg 2-LS1 $1,699.00
