Default 85 z28 wanting to do a 5.3 carbed swap??

ive got a buddy who has a 85' z28 roller in good shape and access to a free 5.3 out of a 01 truck..he wants to go the easiest route and go carbed..ive seen quite a few threads and done a few searches but nothing to really help answer my questions..here they are as follow..thanks in advance for all the help guys!!

what all parts will i need to make it work?? car is strictly a race car..no p/s, no a/c..etc..

what headers are the best bang for the buck??
which intake/ignition is better??

You only have one header option: Hawks.

Intake: For a stock 5.3, I'd say the Edelbrock Performer is your only real option. As for ignition, that's the MSD. It's more capable than the edelbrock.

Factory K-member: Yes. I'd ditch the truck oil pan though, or you're going to tear it off on the first speed bump you come to.

There's a ton of info in the "engine swap" forum on thirdgen.org. I'd check it out.

make sure you get the 1" set back ones - you'll require a notch in the kmember if you use the standard ones
