228r cam+circle d 3200 stall? Anybody running this setup?
I am getting the circle d 3200 stall here in about a month, and I am also thinking I probably want to go with the 228r cam. This is a dd car and I was wondering if circle d 3200 would keep me up in the rpm range enuf for this cam? Anybody who has this setup let me know. Thanks

This is a great DD combo. However, if your car is a weekend warrior I would highly recommend stepping up the converter to a 4k. The cam will LOVE it. I ran a TR224 with a 3200 and a 4k and the 3200 had the manners of a more daily friendly car. With the 4k, I wouldn't have really wanted to drive it daily but man it fit the cam much better IMO.

I wouldnt be afraid to go to a 4k+ converter from one of the reputable companys here (hint, FTI). I will say, I have an FTI 4200 in my trans am. The thing is so tight on the bottom, that I can let off the brake pedal and the car will take off on its own. Cruising around town it never gets over 2200 rpm on take off. But when you hit the happy pedal, it flashes to around 4000 RIGHT NOW. Awesome converter, and super tight on the bottom for street use. Just giving you another fact.

A 228 cam and 3200 stall will be good for high 11s if you can dead hook and depending on DA. I would expect that combo to run 12 flat all day, but I feel 11.7-11.8s would be attainable under correct conditions in a full weight, stock headed car.

thats what I was looking for.. Looking for something that will get me a 11.9-12.2 or so and I wouldn't have to rev really high. I will have 275 40 17 nitto drag radials on it, so I probably wont dead hook

Awesome. What brand of stall do you have? You have a youtube account or anything. If your going with the 3200 and the 228r that would be cool if you could keep me updated on how you like it. Be nice to see when I get it in if im running what I should

I run a circle D 3200 with a MS3 cam from TSP and drives great around town and pulls great on little highway runs. I also tossed my 3.23's for 3.73's before the cam or stall. Only problem I have is if you step on the pedal going 40 or so it will break my bfg Nt's loose. 1st is useless without better tired like a dr but pulls like hell soon as you get traction so with a samller cam like a 228 the 3200 should work great. Alot of people I know run circle d stall all with good results from my 3200 up to my friend 4200.
