Default Relatively new guy with a pretty quick Jeep SRT8.

Before flaming me, keep in mind I'm posting this at the request of a couple forum members that were interested in the build. I'm not a ***** and won't be acting like one. I'm just a regular guy that loves to make my vehicle as fast as possible.

For the record, I already know it's not very smart to mod an SUV, as the bang-for-the-buck isn't there. Furthermore, I know I will never be as fast as a similarly modified car, but that's fine with me. My wife and I enjoy driving the Jeep, and my daughter enjoys helping me with the build, so that makes it worth while for me.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been on here a while, but never made an introduction. I've always been a big Chevy fan and came very close to buying a Silverado SS a few years ago, but I held off in hopes that Jeep would make an SRT. Eventually they did and I bought it.

Here's some of the specs of my build:

7.0 liter stroker (426) by LPM - LPM holds the World Record for the fastest Jeep SRT8, which is mid 9's at over 145mph. Full weight.

Pistons: Ross - 10 to 1 CR
Cam: 116 lobe seperation, intake: 594, exhaust: 600

LPM ported/polished heads, Pro Torque Torque converter - 3k stall, PPP Ported/polished manifold, Kooks headers, Ford 80# injectors, Nitto NT05's, billet fuel rails with front and rear crossover, MSD BAP, Mopar TCM, Johan CMR tune, stock throttle body and exhaust (it's silent).

Vortech V3si that is hitting 52K RPM's when I shift at 6,200. Capable of 775HP.

Paramount Performance 1,000HP transmission and Valvebody.

The Jeep is running consistent 7.1-7.2's at 98-99 mph with lots of tire spin due to the open differential. A group of us came up with a $5,000 deposit, so Wavetrac is going to begin production of a LSD rear for our Jeeps. This should put me in the 6's where I belong.

By the way, the Jeep has a 4,800 race weight. I've not had it dyno'd yet, but according to the online calculators, the 99.9 mph run converts to 780HP at the crank, which is only a 5HP difference than what Vortech claims for the blower.

Here are a few photos and videos.

Glad to see a good Nashville guy around here. Welcome, and that Jeep is straight up crazy man, awesome build.

What sort of tires are you running, and does that sucker spin the tires with the AWD???

Yes, it smokes them with all wheel drive. I'm running NT05's, so I'm stuck with the lower ET's until I get a true LSD rear. Are you running at Bowling Green this Saturday?

I wish, the 1998 Z28 in my sig is TOAST after running into a telephone pole. Don't drink and drive kids.

They are getting pretty cheap if you search for a used one.

You know me better than most. I'd love a 6.* in the 1/8th, as that is tantamount to a 10.* in the 1/4. And yes, I want some 100+ trap speeds to boot.

Durn. At least you learned your lesson. That's how I lost my first high performacne suv years ago, so I know your pain.

Fill me in. Are you on the red site?

You might be confusing me with Paulie (YoungMedic). He lives in Southern Cali and I live in Tennessee. I hope you guys will like me a lot more than the reception he received on a TBSS site. LMAO

Small world. I wanted one of those Magnums bad. I still have photos of the SRT8 concept Magnum that had a blower on it. I'll have to dig them up one day.

Thanks. I've really put a lot of time and $ into it and last week I decided to tone it down a little. I had been in the market for a larger blower, but decided to ga different route - and removed the blower. Now it's NA, but I intend to run a 200 shot in it's place. Now the Jeep will be tame and drivable on the weekends, and capable of some low 7's when I hit the track. Best of both worlds.

A Magnum SRT8 like mine with AWD would be a beast!
