anybody done a 5.3 jeep swap?
what did you guys do for guages? I'm putting a 5.3 w manual transmission in a 2005 jeep. I'm clear on everything except for how to get the guages to work. I need some input/advice here.

here is the set I used
http://www.jegs.com/i/Auto-Meter/105...rentProductId=
Tach is off the tach signal from the PCM
water temp sender is in the passenger side head
speedo is the speedo cable from the tranny
used autometers fuel sending unit for the fuel level
oil pressure is off the PCM (I think)
not sure how the voltmeter is hooked up.

I really want to keep the jeep gauge cluster. Do you know of anybody that maybe makes adapters/ converters or something?
on a side note when you use those speedos can you put whatever milage you want in there? I'm asking becuase I have a 72 blazer that I want to redo the gauge cluster in.

FWIW, from the Novak site:
The six gauges have one integrated microprocessor that receives a multiplexed signal from the PCM. This digital signal cannot be generated without the Jeep computer. There are two ways to get around this: the first and best is to upgrade the Jeep cluster to an aftermarket set that is fully GM compatible. The fuel level meter should be Chrysler compatible since you will be using the signal from the factory fuel sender. In the end, this may be a better method due to the accuracy, adjustability (especially important for the speedometer on Jeeps with varying tire sizes and axle ratios) and custom look.
The second (preferred) way to circumvent this challenge is to run the Jeep computer (ECM) in tandem with the GM powertrain computer. This consists of applying source voltage to the Jeep unit and then feeding the varying (oil pressure, water temp, voltage, etc.) signals into it to be processed and multiplexed to the original gauge panel.

I have an older jeep so this may not work out for you unless you want to redo your dash

What did you do for the fuel system? What pump did you run, and was it internal or external? Did you keep factory fuel tank or what did you run?
