Default can i use my fog light switch and ACR for something else?

hey guys,

i want to use my fog and traction buttons for my nitrous install.

i cannot find any info on wiring diagram for my car: 1999 Camaro Z28.
rather then drill holes all over, i thought it would look nice to have factory buttons all the way across (the camaro insert pops out to reveal 2 more switch spots)

i do not use either button anymore but the wiring is intact. the end of the fog-lights usus just black and purple wire. i wonder if i can just use the purple for power on the nitrous?

sure you can. just need to buy two more switches. the asr switch is good for the momentary nos if u dont mine reaching up there.

i believe off the top of my head the black, grey, and brown-ish wires are for the lighting of the switch and the other two colored wires are for whatever they are hooked up to

Here is the pinout for the Camaro foglight switch: https://ls1tech.com/forums/12985350-post21.html

Here is the pinout for the Camaro ASR switch: https://ls1tech.com/forums/12986168-post23.html

BTW, I found these in about two minutes by searching for "ASR switch" (of course I knew they were out there).

traction is a momentary switch so it may be hard to get that working for heater

Momentary means that the switch is spring loaded and is only "on" while it's pressed. As soon as you release it, the circuit is open (off) again. It is normally used for a circuit that isn't meant to be left on (for example a garage door opener) or in a circuit where only a momentary pulse of power is required to activate it (like traction control).

ahhhh thats why i was lost, i figured it as an on/off since the traction stayed on or off.....doh.

guess it walda made a good purge button before i drilled out my camaro plaque for the button
pics soon.....i put the button right in the "O" of camaro

so if i buy another fog switch so i can have a clean look:

i am still a little lost on what to run from the switch for power
E - power for fog lights (or whatever)
F - switched output to fog light relay (or whatever)

do i actually use pin E or F to go to say the bottle warmer?
i got lucky with the fogs since it is already all wired and i just had to snag the power. but starting from scratch, i figure i can splice pin A-D for the light to work but then what do I need for it to send power to warmer, E or F?

Here is the Camaro fog light switch pinout so others can follow the conversation (I've added the colors of the OEM wires for reference):

A - ground for ON indicator light (light green)
B - ground for switch illumination (black)
C - power for switch illumination (from IP dimmer) (gray)
D - not used
E - power for fog lights (or whatever) (brown)
F - switched output to fog light relay (or whatever) (yellow)

I really thought the listing was clear but I'll try to expand a little. The switch basically opens and closes the connection between pins E and F. Any accessory (labeled "or whatever" in the list) will need to have power input to pin E and power output to the accessory on pin F. You can connect E to a constant (battery) power source if you want your accessory to work at all times or to an ignition controlled source if you want it to work only when the ignition is on. Turning the switch on connects the power source on E to the output on F to power the accessory. Turning the switch off breaks that connection.

The other three pins affect only the switch illumination and the ON indicator light. Both A and B can be run to a common ground. Pin C should be connected to the instrument panel dimmer circuit - the gray wire at any of the dash lighting locations.
