Default Really need help figuring out my transmission problem

I have a 1995 6 speed lt1 trans am. I was racing in my car last week and out of no where it wouldnt let me shift into gear. When its turned off I can shift into gears easily. But when its turned on I cant shift into any gear and if I try the rpms drop just a little bit. Also I think Im getting a vibration in my drive train. If I place it in gear when its off then start it the car jumps as if I dont have the clutch engaged at all. Also if I try to put it in gear while its running you can hear something trying to grind. Needing to have fixed soon any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a clutch hydraulic issue. Either the master or slave took a dump. Most likely it has never been replaced, and with 15yrs on it, you're on borrowed time. Your best bet would be to get a complete slave/master assembly from GM. It comes pre-bled, so just bolt it up and go. GM part number: 12559912
I'll PM you the name/number of a GM parts guy that will give you a smokin deal. List price is around $220-230 and he can sell it to you for around $140-150.

Just because it isn't leaking and full doesn't mean the internal seals might not have failed. The clutch isn't disengauging. That is why the car is lunging forward and grinding when you try to put it in gear. If the car has some miles on it, it wouldn't hurt to put a new master and slave in the car anyway.

Started on it today. Just got everything ready. Dropped driveshaft and such and removed all the upper stuff and disconnected the sensors and all. Goin to drop the transmission tomorrow. Trying to do it as cheap as I can because I already found a buyer for 6000 and I have my eyes on a ls1 im wanting.

I got her fixed. Turns out 2 springs had broke off of the clutch.
