Exclamation Laptop wont install .NET 1.1

Just aquired HP Tuners and my f-ing laptop wont install .NET 1.1

Its a new laptop with windows 7. What should I do? Need help please!

When I try downloading it it says that "this softwear has known incompalibility with IIS services on this platform"
I clicked check for solutions online with no luck. I installed .net4 and still comes up needing 1.1

Im out of ideas

That's because Win7 comes with a higher version already installed.

I tried to look on HPTuners site to see if there are any work arounds (or to see if 1.1 is really required) and it appears that their site is down at the moment.

The .net1.1 framework is SOO damn old no wonder its giving you grief, usually windows stuff is backwards compatible but with the new framework I'm sure things conflict.

You can turn IIS services off and see if that solves your problem, but remember to turn it back on if thats not the issue.

Anyway here's the steps for IIS.

Turning OFF:
go to control panel > Administrative Tools > Services.msc > World Wide Publishing service.
Turning ON: go to admin tools> services> www publishing > start.
