Default AFR's, Darts, Trickflows, OH MY!

Ok so I am in the process of a H/C/I build... My car is a 2000 camaro z28 m6.. It's my dd car but not for long... Mostly street car, maybe an occasional track just for fun... Built tranny, stage 3 spec, tick master cylinder, LT's.. That's what my car was... Im pushing for 450 to the wheels or close.. Only thing I have bought so far is

PP ls6 oil pump
Ls2 timing chain
F.A.S.T 90mm intake

My next step is to buy a set of heads.. I have been doing alot of research on AFR's and Darts.. Not really able to get any good info as the threads normal turn into arguments about the two and get way off subject.. I have read so far that afr's have excellent flow in the middle ranges which is what you want with a plastic intake that can't flow as much as the heads can at let's say .600 lift.. Or am I way off... Haven't done much research on trickflows heads... Are Darts and TFS built around the same method?

Just looking for personal experiences, opinions, even some sponsor help would be much appreciated.. I am new at getting this in depth with an ls1 so if I say something wrong please let me know..

My cam will more n likely be spec'd by Patrick G.. I hear he is good at what he does..

Talk it up!

Have PatrickG spec your head and compression ratio as well as your cam.

By "spec" I don't mean assemble the heads, I mean adivise you on which head, and related components will work well with the cam he "specs" and thus, which head-cam combination will meet your objectives.

An important aspect to remember when spec'ing a head/cam setup is matching your combo to work as a collective whole. If you plan on spinning to the moon, be sure your gear ratio/tire height, heads/intake/exhaust all compliment, and not handicap, the cam's powerband.

Try to determine the end goal for the car (not necessarily a HP number, but moreso the car's purpose) with respect to your budget, as this is almost always the limiting factor in blueprinting a build.

I am definitely gonna take my time and make sure I am happy with the finished product.. I am gonna give Patrick a call monday and tell him My goal/use with the car... I have all winter to get this build finished...

The #1 factor I have seen on builds is money being the limiting factor, which is my case to, but with patience and alot of saving, I should be able to buy what i want and will make me happy with the finished product.

They are all three good heads, darts are better suited for 4" bores then on a ls1 3.898 bore and really need a better valve job then dart puts on them. THey are great heads with just a valve job.
Afr and trickflow both are good heads as well but dont get a cam untill you choose your head.

Dang those are real good numbers.. I will be running a fast 90 with some port work... Did u upgrade ur valvetrain as "AIN'T SKEETED" has stated above or just pull em out of the box and bolt them on?

Darts for the win.. My buddy put down 460 and still climbing but had shut down @ 5400rpms due to a pinched knock sensor wire under the intake with 99 ws6 m6 - custom futral cam, 42lb injectors, ported fast 90/90, and dart pro1 cnc'd 250cc 2.08 inake valves. The heads are way to big for his stock bottom end but it shows they still make great power.

Don't forget about the PRC aftermarket heads available thru TSP. They have exactly what you need.

Ya alot of people use tsp heads around here.. Kinda just wanted to do something different.. But that is also the scary part bcuz I don't know if a different head would be worth the money or even affective if that makes since?
