Paint & Body Work - can I remove the triangle piece by the sail panel ????

I am about to start prepping my bird for a new paint job and I was wondering if the little triangle by the sail panel is removable. It sits really close to the quarter panel so in order to sand it and paint it right I need to take off the triangle. I tugged on it but it seems glued on or something. What gives?

it is held on by a large piece of double sided tape. i always use a putty knife (metal spreader) to cut the tape behind it.

but if I fubar them up is there a place to get new ones?

you can cut the tape with nylon string and a sawing motion but if not careful you can cut thru the plastic as well.

just dont put the plastic at too severe of an angle and it wont snap. but if you do, just go to a junkyard and pull some off

or you can do what i just did, i painted my buddys quarter panel recently and stuck an allen wrench behind the part that touches the quarter panel. that pulled it far enough away for my clear to be dusted underneath
