Tools & Fabrication - Help picking out floor jack, lowered car safe
I want to pick up a new floor jack, but I don't want to pay $2-400 for one of the name brand low profile ones. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on a cheaper floor jack that does the job good and works with lowered cars? I'm sick of having to drive my car up on wood or something to be able to fit a jack under it everytime. Thanks
-Also, I'm not looking for one of the small ones, I mean a regular sized one

Agreed on Harbor Freight. I got a "low profile" 2 ton jack from them 2 years ago on a 69.99 special. I've used the piss out of it and never had a problem. Very useful for lowered F-bodies/Vettes.

there's an online coupon for the HF jack for $59 through tomorrow...
I want an Arcan XL35 for my next jack... seems like the best compromise between low profile, lifting capacity and price...

I just bought that one and it's great. But yeah it's really heavy
The blue HF aluminum jack is what I use.

I have that one. It reaches to my k-member and I can lift the entire car with just two jacks, once from the k-member, and once from the pumpkin. It is heavy and difficult to roll around, but man does it make jacking up a lowered car easy. The minimum height is less than two inches.
