So this makes the air flow come in more smoother and with less restrictions?

That was the original intent. ... I'm not sure if it's actually helping but I like knowing that I actually have a fully functional WS.6 hood now. ... The SLP 'Cold Air' intake made me nervous. I kept imagining going through a puddle at a high enough speed that it shoots road water straight up the cold air intake. ... Probably a stupid thought but I just couldn't get passed the thought in theory!

The BGRA (Brian Green Ram Air) setup does the same thing as this except narrows down towards the lid. I've drove the car in monsoon-like rain (both in FL and MI) and never had a problem. I've had this setup since 2005.

I did the same thing but instead of sawzalling the baffles, I used a drill and just drilled out the rivets. As long as you use weatherstrip to seal the hood to the box it actually functions as a CAI. I hooked up my Innovative OT-2 and checked my IAT temps while accelerating and the faster I went the colder the air temps

THATS CORRECT , this 2 "bafles" are the famous "water tramp".
there no need more flow that the ram air gives to the intake, when the chambers fills there is no extra space inside to fill.

may want to brush up on fluid dynamics. "fills" is defined by different parameters, and is part of why guys do the baffle delete.

I got it from AutoZone. I can't remember the size but it's the only one they have there so it shouldn't be a pain to find in the isles.
