well im looking at either building a 370 bored 6.0 with a nice set of pistons and rods stock crank or should i just by a junkyard 6.0 and be done with it. i plan on running it on the sauce around a 125 to 150 shot i dont drive my truck as a DD it just a weekend toy. id like to get around 10.5 to 11.1 comp with a set of 243s millled. btw my truck is a RCSB 1500 2wd any help would be great.

Either one will do the trick. You are changing the pistons anyway so you don't really care if it is a LQ4 or 9. At that point, it will just change what head bolts you use on the engine. Just make sure you have it bored and honed, line honed, decked, etc. to make sure the block is good to go.

the 6.0 junk yard route should do.do a leak down on the motor before buying it if you can.get the lowest mileage one you can find, get a new oil pump..you could mill the heads that come with the motor to save for good valve train pieces, new springs, better push rods, timing chain, and trunnion bearings.will you be using a stock truck intake?get a cam that will work with the truck intake.you should consider getting a bigger fuel pump.do you have some one local that is good at tuning with NOS?
