Default Stock GTO 18" Wheels. Do they fit a camaro/firebird?

Ok. I've gone through every possible thread. I'm coming up with mixed answers. Some say yes it will work and some say no.

I have a set of 5x120 18x8 48mm offset OEM GTO wheels and I want to run them on my z28.

As far as offset, it says they will work. Now I've seen people run 5x120 wheels before with no problems because, the difference between 5x120.6 and 5x120 are a couple sheets of thick printing paper.

I've seen people run the OEM GTO 17's before, but not the 18's.

What is the difference between the 17's and the 18's, that enable the 17's to work but not the 18's?

Thanks in advance guys.

This is a response from 95TAJade about mounting 17" GTO rims: "slight difference in the actual bolt pattern is so negligible that its not even worth worrying about. The 1 thing you MUST do is you've got to grind out the hub opening of the GTO wheels about 1/8th of an inch or so in order for the wheels to sit back on the rotors properly. I did not use a wheel spacer although it probably would look very good if you decided to use one on your car. I DO NOT suffer from any rubbing/scratching/etc on the inner fender wells when turning from lock to lock on the steering wheel."

I can only imagine it's the same deal for the 18 inchers...

^ What he said?! LOL! You may have to run a shorter sidewall on your tire option. Now if you're lowered than you may have a rubbing issue. Dunno though...personally I am not a fan of 18"s but everyone's got different tastes. I say give it a shot and tell us what happens.

Really appreciate the the help guys! Thanks!

I was going to throw them on if they could bolt right up with no modifications needed. It doesn't make sense to grind these hubs and ruin the resale value so I may as well just get wheels that bolt right up.

No I didn't. I was only going to put them on if they bolted right up and they wouldn't. I sold them and bought some c6 DD wheels.
