Alright, the piston I'm looking for is out of the way, now I'm hunting for an LS2/LQ9 rod. Here's what it looks like:

In 2005/2006 didn't gm start using the same rod in lq4/ls2/lq9

I believe you're right, yes. The later LQ4's did indeed have this rod. The even later LSA also used this I think.

I have 7 rods from a 2006 lq4

All the numbers matched the ls2 rods I had used.
