VRX5 cam for ls1 daily driver.
Wanna run a VRX5 cam with trick flow 220cc heads for a 2000 trans am as my daily driver. Wondering if any body is doing the same thing and likes it or wishes they went smaller. Current mods:
Ftra kit
Slp lid
Ls6 intake
Throttle body
Pacesetter lt's
True duals dumpes with slp, no cats

What some people will drive daily will be different for others. People will come in here with all different cams and say its okay to dd it, while others will say it will be annoying to dd that same cam. I personally wouldn't mind a cam in a mid 230 durration and i have a 228 cam.

This will be my first cam install in a ls motor. I drove a gt with hot rod cams and i know what to look for after i did, but in tn there isnt that many ls cars wth the kind of cam i am looking for, just generally i am asking, is it too big of a cam or what? The t/a is a 6 spd btw and it will be mainly driven through alot of stop lights

Idk, I might just do a vrx5 cam and drive it for a month, if i like it i will keep going, if I don't, I will just keep it as my Weekend driver and get a gas saver for my DD.

Cam Motion
C33-790 LS Hydraulic Roller Camshaft; 228'/232', .612"/.612", 113'+4'; 2,200 to 6,200 RPM
Or if you want a tad more rpm then:
C33-794 LS Hydraulic Roller Camshaft; 232'/236', .629"/.629", 113'+4'; 2,400 to 6,400 RPM
I would recommend gears with either but the second one for sure. BTW, Cam Motion lobes handle business

Yessir, that deal is a bad *** deal, i looked and everything alone and it all was $4k. But the ls2 timing chain and ls6 ported oil pump is coming from texas speed, pretty much all mods came from texas speed. what do you mean by gas mileage?

I run a ms4 I don't know if that cam is bigger or not, mine is a m6 also, mine drives really well on the street, we put a lot into the tune on my car though, just know there will be a lil bucking at lower rpms and some cam surging more or less depending on how good you tune is,I'm gonna run 4.30s or 4.56 gears in the new rear should fix the very lil bucking it has, with a good tune though should be easy for a dd,yeah my gas mileage is horrible,I don't dd my car but if I did I would be at the gas station alot
