Smile Buying some LT Headers

I am about to buy some LT headers. Pacesetter LT ceramic coated and off road Y pipe. My question: 1) Do I NEED new header bolts? 2) I have an 01 trans am, since I removed the cats I have no emissions then correct? 3) Is there a difference in Race headers and no emission headers? Thanks!

Stock bolts will do just fine just do not strip them. The no emmisions headers are for cars with air and egr delete. Seeing as you have a 2000 you have both. Good luck with the buy and install.

My fault didnt see the 01. you do not have egr.

Deleting the cats has nothing to do with the headers. Do you plan to run the air tubes to the top of your headers?
If you do then you need emission headers for a 2001 LS1, if not get the race headers.

I would just delete the whole air pump it's just a there to heat up the cats and save the life time for them. If your gonna do a Off-Road X pipe (No Cats) then there is no need for the AIR.

I know the 01-02 motors have no egr so if I get race headers. What is this air hose people are talking about? Going with LT's and off road y-pipe.

The air hoses are on your exhaust manifolds. You got one on your driver side and one on your passenger. They both connect through the hosing that wraps around your intake manifold and back down to your air pump behind the front driver bumper. What everyone does when they get race style headers is just remove all the hosing

Sounds good to me! So, if I remove all the hosing do I have to remove the air pupm as well?

Just make sure you pull the fuse after you do this and get it tuned out.
