Default Wanna go Deeep. How to get the bass note?

I got a 02 Hawk to pick up next week, with what I believe to be the Loudmouth if that came with it(got the dual quad tips) Forgive me I'm still learning. But, anyways, I do believe the best sound in the world is a deep, bellowing, rumble of an exhaust note coming out of a LS1...a close second would be the moan of a pleased woman, and third the sound of a golf ball hitting the bottom of the cup...So I listened to the LS1sounds.com and heard GMMG, and Corsa, the two favorites of this site. I would rather have a deep grumble, than a loud whine. Now how would I achieve that? Deeper than GMMG and Corsa. And what about headers. Just what will they do for tone and performance?

headers make it louder...deleting the cats makes it much louder but will add 10-30hp depending on type

Headers are a must-do mod if you want to make power.
For a deep, deep tone, go True Duals / X-pipe / Flowmaster Single Chambererd mufflers. NOTHING! NOTHING will beat that.

deep = duals

you can have a dual dumped setup for a couple hundred cheaper then what it cost for corsa, boral, or GMMG.

The single chambered Flows are far from being the "worst flowing mufflers".
They're race mufflers.

Here is a video clip of my car. At the time I had the PP Stg II 5.3 heads but that won't make any difference in the sound compared to the heads I have now, well shouldn't. Setup consists of stainless steel true duals, 2.5in pip into a custom made X-pipe, dynomax bullet mufflers, and pacesetter headers. I don't remember if I had cats or not in the video. Enjoy....

for deep you have two options

1) duals

2) BIG pipe (3" y and 3.5-4" catback).

Agreed. Or you could just buy an LT1 which has the BASS no LS1 could match...

Mike

BTW, GMMG with some FLP LT headers/highflow cats is also very deep sounding throughout the entire rpm range on an LS1 as I was pleasantly surprised when I heard a car with this set-up in person (liked it better than the true dual X pipe w/ bullets set-up I heard in person as well)...

Definately true duals with x-pipe and no cats. I speak from hearing a lot of clips, and my personal setup. Absolutely, 100% the DEEPEST setup. Use either chambered mufflers or flo-pro twisters. (if you use the latter, bullet style, go for longer ones like 18")

How much are Flowmaster single chambered mufflers? Are they too big to fit on a lowered car?

Anyone have any sound clips of their duals with chambered mufflers? I've heard lots of duals with bullits and its not as deep when you get on it, its just loud as hell. I want a really deep sound until about halfway through the rpms if possible, so it doesn't sound like I'm racing ALL the time
