Right now I am torn between two torque wrenches. I would like to buy both of them but I can't afford it. So I'm going to have to choose one of them. :bang: Anyone have any kind of advice on which one I should go with?

3/8 in Torque wrench
5-100 ft LBS

1/2 in torque wrench
12.5-250 ft lbs

I would go with the 12-250, that covers more common torques on cars than the first one. WHat brand and style? Digital? Click type? Torsion bar?

IMO, more fasteners will be cover by the 5-100lb.ft. There's quite a few under 12lb.ft..
Get the "clicker" type.

Man, those are really nice, but i can't get past prices on them!
IMO, if you don't need for your profession, then no need to ever spend over $200 on a TQ wrench. Proto makes some good ones for a lot less.

I hate tech wrenches...... Ive used nothing but Micrometer style Snap On or Mac torque wrenches... If you in Vegas is your snap on guy Keith Grable?

I think I met him before. But I didn't buy from him. Thanks for recommending the 1/2 in. Now its time to put it to good use.

What don't you like about it? Please share your opinion.

I dont like the feel of them... they feel like a toy... Id rather spin a micrometer style than push a button to adjust my setting...

Save yourself some money and get both from Harbor Freight. If you search here you'll find that their accuracy is quite good especially considering the price compared to others.
