Is it Chevy or GM? If it is Chevy, I would guess it's for a truck, since Ford and Chrysler already have V10's in their trucks. However, if it was GM, I'd say maybe for a Cadillac concept? I remember they had a V12 at an auto show that was making +-700hp N/A. Just specualtion of course. But if you find anything else out, PLEASE let us know immediately. This sounds like classified info!!!

Sounds cool but if its not for a concept than i bet its a truck motor. Their V8s are allready big and probably near their cap for keeping that displacement enviromentally friendly for 8 cylinders.

I think GM High Tech had an article on this a while ago. They had a picture of it. Not sure if it was real or a mock up, but I think Gm has been working on this for a while.

GM had previously condcuted studies on a V-10 as shown in GMHTP.They said in that article the plan for the V-10 had been scrapped. I heard not too long ago they were going to go ahead with it for use in Trucks. We'll see I guess.

I thought the caddy engine was supposed to be a V-12... I heard they also are making a V8 good for 500HP, based on a split block from the 16.

No it is a V-10 and a GM. 1 or 2 people were hired from the Viper team. Yes it is for a truck. I forget if it is going production or not.

Why would they use a 7.7 V10 when they have a bigger 8.1 V8? V10's sound like hell with a loud exhaust on them too.

Why do they need to do any research? Just take the new LS2 and add another 2 cylinders? Kinda like how the 4.3L was a 350 with 2 cylinders missing..

little update, still waiting to here more, but this is what he said. Its GM 7.7 V10 Iron block, for truck use, he is going to talk to the GM guy and see if he can get some specs for it.

There is a bit more to it than that. Even the 4.3 had some difference in crankshaft design and other bits.

why build a v10 at all...1 they sound like crap...2 the 8.1 runs circles around the "mighty" dodge and ford v-10
