Default Key fob question

My gfs key fob battery died on her today. Parts store said its $75 for the new fob (cause you cant just replace the battery :/ ) My question is how do you go about reprogramming the new fob to the car?

Dealer has to program the new fob, which is prolly why its 75 bucks. Weird you cant just change the battery id look into that, every one ive seen you could change the battery.

Dont pay the stupid stealership. You can do it yourself.

Put your key into the ignition and turn it on without starting the car and leave it in the on position.
After 10 minutes the horn will honk 1x.
Turn the key off then back on within 5 seconds and leave it on for another 10 minutes witout starting the car.
After that 10 minutes passes the horn will honk 2x.
Do the same thing a third time and after 10 minutes the horn will honk 3x.
Turn the ignition off and remove the key.
Walk about 10 feet or so from the car and try all of the buttons to lock/unlock the doors and trunk.
Start your car to check that out and your done ... it's programmed to your car.

put an after market alarm system on the car and don't ever worry about the factory fob battery again!
