Swapping from ls1 heads/intake to ls6 heads/intake
so i got a really good deal on an ls6 intake and head set... i was wondering what i would need besides head gaskets and bolts and intake gasket?? . . .mods already are lid,catback, gm hotcam, diablo tuner, ls6 springs etc

i have ls6 springs, http://www.carcraft.com/howto/ls1_en...all/index.html , and ya ya i read that before .. really helpful.... is this mod worth it? ( heads and intake mani ) .. also should i pay the extra money to get the heads polished/ported?

What are your particular goals with the car? daily driver, street race, drag race etc..Are you doing a budget build or money really isnt a issue?
To answer your question YES switching to an ls6 intake is definitely worth it! If your looking for max power look into a FAST intake with a matching throttle body.
WHat year ls1 engine do you have? If you have a 98-00 heads just get aftermarket heads that are already ported. If you have a 01-02 the heads are better than the 98-00with the 241s so you could port them and be good but still better to get some ls6 243 ported heads. Since your swapping do it right the 1st time and make sure they are ported! There are sponsers on here you can talk to to give you a combo of heads and cam like TEXAS SPEED for example.

Really all you will need is the coolant cross over tube. My car has one in the front and one the rear. The kit if you order it will only have one for the front. Other than that it's pretty much straight forward. If you have any more tech. Questions feel free to PM me. I have put a many of these on.
