98-02 F Body Engine Differences?
I read somewhere there were different cams, intakes exhaust manifold designs through the 1998-2002 Camaro z28/SS models
From what i remember (please correct me if I'm wrong):
1998:
*First year LS1 Introduced
1999:
*Nothing
2000:
*Breather attached to intake Lid
*New Exhaust manifold design with better flow
2001:
*LS6 Intake Manifold
*Less Aggressive Cam
2002:
*Nothing
This leads to my next question:
I have a 2000 Z28 with SLP intake Lid and LM1 Catback..
*Would I gain about 15HP from an LS6 Intake?
*Would I need a tune?
*Can I use my stock LS1 fuel rails, injectors, whatever else?
*Does the EGR hose hook up the same to the LS6 Manifold?
*I would need an LS6 Throttle Body also?
*Is this fairly easy to swap out, or would I need to pay a shop?
Thanks

Im in the same boat, very new to the ls1 game.
heres my attempt
15hp, maybe with a P/P TB and a lid, possibly (but if you had other mods, exhaust for example, you may see bigger gains, I say 15hp is possible, but maybe too optimistic)
I dont think you would need a tune, but you would to see that 15hp you want, the stocker pcm can keep up decent
you can use stock ls1 rails and injectors.
egr hook up i think is the same(most delete egr and PCV), the only thing different is you need shave the ribs on the intake for coolant lines.
stock TB is fine, just port and polish so you can get that 15hp, maybe bump stop mod?
I would have a very handy guide to help you along, i know people can do it in less then an hour, just need new gaskets, (TB is reusable, I think)
Im a newb, this was an attempt, i hope most is right, you werent getting any responses, so i thought id help, plus im too lazy to do a search, you could easily find all your answers that way!!!! hopefully someone chimes in, because I would also like some more details on what exactly is needed

gotta drop motor out to do it right you can do it on car but id at least lower engine a little it will hook right up direct bold on make sure to torque in proper sequence and to specs any ls1 ls6 throttle body will work although i sugest a 85 mm and the ls6 intake does not have egr so you will have to block off the hole on your exhaust manifold other than that enjoy your new found ten to twenty hp
