I just bought a 1998 formula. Its a roller and was originally an auto car. Id like to put a 6 speed in it. The car currently doesnt have a engine/trans harness or pcm.

I found a 1998 engine/m6 harness for sale ($200), but I'm wondering at this point if it would be beneficial to swap in a 99&up harness/pcm. What would be involved in connecting the interior harness to a 99 up? I could get a different cluster if needed and I have a fuel tank out of a 00 camaro.

I will be putting the motor from my 02 Trans Am into the car since I have a new motor for it.

i have a 98 formula also that we built a 408 stroker for it. I bought a 2002 ecm and in process of rewiring or repinning it. If it is an easy installation you can have the 98 from my car.

You need to do more work, but it's much better to have a 99+ PCM. The tuning capabilities and data stream speed is worth every hour spend rewiring and making gauges work.
