Default Comp Cams trunion upgrade for Comp XR275?

I have been mulling over buying some Comp Cams Trunion upgrades for my LQ9. I have a Comp Cams XR275HR12 which is 222/224 .566"/.568". What do you think? Good use of funds?

I think it is a worthwhile upgrade even with a stock cam. Although your cam is not partcularly agressive most folks spend more time at higher rpms once they have a cam.

i just got a set of new rockers (o.e style with uprated bearings) already converted from a shop on this forum, havent fitted them yet but only cost $245 delivered to the UK with no return core charge/ my cam is very similar and the stock rockers have been a worry on my mind as everything else on the valvetrain is uprated.

Not necessary with that cam IMO. While the trunion upgrade is never a "waste" of money, that cam is a pretty passive lobe design and doesn't beat the crap out of the valvetrain. So if money was tight, you could afford to pass on it with no issues.

You'll have to excuse the **** poor quality of the photo, but those needle bearings on the drain plug you see pictured, are from the #2 cylinder off a '99 SS we found yesterday upon changing the oil. Car has 46k miles, 20k on the top end (Torquer V2, PRC 2.5s, LS7 lifters, hardened pushrods, FACTORY rocker arms). Oil pressure and power were all there, suspected nothing, just due for the oil change and found it. So now I guess I'm on here asking the same question..... whats the best upgrade out there without going overboard on price???

And I know this may be a stupid question, but with these engines and aftermarket roller rockers, are they self-aligning and self-adjusting? If not, what's the basic rule of thumb?
