Default ls1 intake

I may get flamed or might get told to hit the search button but I want to hear this from you guys because you have been very helpful when it comes to these LS4 cars but what is an ls1 intake and would that have an effect on my K&N CAI or anything like that?

lol

all kidding aside. ls1 intake is an intake off of ls1 powered cars. ie early ls1 fbody, corvette, possibly gto. not to sure of the differences other than that the late fbody cars got the ls6 intake. i dont see why you couldnt continue to use your k&n with the ls1 intake.

this is a ls2/ls4 intake pic. if you look at the ls4 intake on the bottom youll see a pretty big obstruction on the left of the inlet. the other lsx intakes dont have it. thats one of the big issues with the ls4 intake.

Nice Pic! I have a LS1 intake with a K&N, I didn't have any problems mating them up

having the K&N mount up is the least of your concerns when swapping intakes. BTW, go with an LS6 intake not the LS1, more power.

Search the classifieds on the main forum, there are normally a few listed quite regularly. Be prepared to spend at least $300 for an LS6 intake and roughly $50-$100 for a used LS1. And as far as the install goes, do the search and read up. If your not mechanically inclined you might want to avoid the swap because there's quite a bit of fabrication involved if I'm not mistaken.

yes the fabrication is what makes this difficult. If it was just a direct swap it would be cake. The LS6 does cost 200 ish dollars more but offers 15 more hp over the LS1. 15 horse for 200 bucks ain't bad at all.
