It will work fine. Sometimes they have a little slack, even when brand new. You just need to know how much is too much.

Specifically refering to the LS2 chain, I have had a couple fit snug, then after they run, they stretch some and create some slack but then it never increases any further. I have also had some that would slightly wiggle on one side when they were brand new, run them and never have a problem with severe abuse Chains just dont ever have the perfect tension on them unless they have a guide or adjustable sprockets. If you are concerned about slack, post a pic or a vid up here.

They work and are a slight upgrade for the LS1 chain. I'm running an LS2 chain.

I would think that it would be how the center line of the crank bore and the center line of the cam bore is measured, That might be why there is a timing chain tensioner to take up the slack. If you have a line bore done it will loosen up the chain a little.

it will work fine. make sure the retaining plate that holds the cam on the block has a good seal on it and is not bad, that can also cause oil psi issue

Looks about like mine. Although, I would prefer a Katech C5R chain. I have heard it's a nightmare to install properly, due to being so tight. Soon, I will know for sure.

Thats not true, the new bearings replace the material that was removed. The crank center line stays the same. You can't change the center line because then the seals, pistons hieght etc everything would be off.

Slack looks ok to me. Its more loose then I would prefer, but sometimes thats just the way they set up.

If by "nightmare" you mean, "breeze"....then you are correct

Just as always, the frustration is in lining the two dimples up

Lets say you spin a main bearing, It also cut the block, The machine shop machines the mounting surface of the caps witch will makes the main saddle not round but a oval shape, Then they machine out the block and the caps to make the main saddle round again and it dose move the crank up in the block witch dose change the piston to deck height and it will loosen the timing chain a little. You will use stock size & thickness bearings, witch will move up in the block with the crank and the rear and front covers will adjust slightly. The cranks not moving that much up in the block, there is a max the the machine shops will line bore

To the Op when the block heats up and expands alot of that slack will be gone, don't worry about it.
