Ive used Lincoln brand welders for a long time. Its time for me to purchase one for the occasional at home use, and this Lincoln Power MIG 140 C really seems to be a decent deal. I can purchase it new for right around $640. Do you guys have any oppinions or other recommendations? All i will be using it for is occasional collsion repair work, and other automotive and race related stuff.

That is a good deal on a new one of those machines. I think they are like 800 normally.

That being said I got a LE 180 (Not the C version so its the cheaper stepped unit instead of continously variable used for 300$ and it had never actually been used)

If you can not afford Miller go with Hobart, i had a Lincoln and screw their support when you need it - okay welders till they break.

Got 10 of then at the college and they all broke down. The 8 hobart are still kicking. All machines we used daily for 3.5 years.

Yes, i believe a hobart handler 140 you can campare to the Lincoln. And they are around 450-500$ maybe less because of the Holidays.

ok i just checked it out looks like its right around $480 with a welding cart included. If anyone else has found a better price or has any suggestions Id appreciate it. I definetly think the Hobart will suite me very well.

Yes it is. i had the Hobart 140 for my first welder - and i still have it 6 years later but it only comes out when i have to leave my shop for something small.

I have the Lincoln 135 and it welds like a dream. Been welding perfect for the last 3 years. I would say I use it more then the average garage mechanic would

Any dollar you save from a welder should be saved up for a plasma cutter.

You can do all the exhaust work you want once you get your new welder.

Ok guys here is another one to throw in the mix. Its the Eastwood 135 mig welder. I read several reviews and even watched a few videos on it, and for $300 its tempting even though im a namebrand kinda guy. It has a 3 year no hassle return policy and does basically all the same things the hobart and lincoln are suppose to. Just curious if any of u guys had used or heard any stories about this welder?
