Default Breaking tires loose at 60mph

Ok, I was going home the other day from work and decided to floor it around 57mph. It was about 65 degrees out and I have some goodyear tires (245-50-16) on the back. They still have half tread left. All the sudden th tires let loose and the rear of the car was fish tailing.

Who else has done this before. I have LT headers and Ported TB.....Is this normal?

I did that in my old 89 LX in the middle of a three lane street... on bigs and littles. Let me tell you that was the last time I ever attempted that maneuver.

I was doing about 50, floored it, went into the left lane, all the way into the right lane then finished out somewhere between the left and the middle lanes.

It was wet out and my tires were bald though lol.

When I had the 19" CCW 505a's (305/30/19) on the car, I raced a buddy and power shifted 4th, there was a guy riding with my buddy and he said my car took about a foot step to the left...I however didn't notice it really. All depends on how much power you're making and where you're making it at.

Your putting down some power....I have my car gutted with just a pass. seat and driver seat left. The car weighs 3360 with me in it. It's an automatic also, stock torque conv., stock cam, stock heads. I'm not making that much power, I dont think...

Back when I was in high school I was in the LT1 on a cold night. I shifted from 3rd to 4th at about 90mph, and the back end started to step out. What a scary feeling.

So what does the "blwn" in your screen name stand for?

Are the tires worn or hardening? I kinda like the feeling, its kinda cool, unless you're trying to run someone and they're leaving you cuz you're spinning. Look at it this way, its like you're driving a car with a lot more hp without spending a dime! haha

245's are a pretty narrow tire for thes cars, so yeah I can see u doing it.. I have to roll into the throttle in second on mine or it starts to dance & im on 315's.
