dude thats bullshit. paypal refunded the money. there was no word from you for 3 weeks until i filed a claim. you tried to get me to send the money to you as a paypal gift so i wouldn't be protected under paypal. when i sent it as a normal transaction i never heard from you again. take the knob and stick it.

Ok, we understand you are upset, but what are the DETAILS of the transaction?
You were buying what part? What were the tems? Without this info, posting is pretty much worthless.

really trying not to waste my time with this. but for sake of saving someone from getting screwed i'll tell you the story.
we agreed i was going to buy a OEM Hurst knob, luckily it wasn't any pricey part or anything. he sent me his paypal and said send payment as a gift so he doesnt have pay the fees.
I said ok, I instead sent him the agreed price + paypal fees, as im not an idiot and threw in a buck to cover it.
As soon as it was sent I never heard from him again. After the weekend I sent a reminder, Monday. Then once every 5 days after that. He's been logging into LS1tech but not responding. I don't care, its just a shift knob nothing pressing I have others. So I wait like 3-4 weeks still nothing.
Sent a claim to paypal got my money back last night, and boom like some sort of coincidence he starts PMing me. What a sketch ball.

Not a big deal. Just could be worse for the next guy is all. I don't play games like this.

I don’t understand why people getting their money via paypal request that the buyer pays the 3% paypal fee.
If people actually look up the terms of Paypal service if you make the buyer pay the 3% fee, they are violating the terms of service and the buyer can file a claim and the seller will get warned and then their account suspended or cancelled.
People should just adjust their price to cover the fee.

It just sucks that the mods don’t do anything about bad known sellers here.
If you step on a sponsors toes they come after you with a vengeance. But they have members on here knowingly ripping people off and they turn a blind eye.

Not cool IMO on the site mods and owners of the site.

They need to try to protect the members here more.

Without us members there is no site for their beloved sponsors.

disc0monkey, you did the right thing. Keep yourself protected, no one is going to lookout for us. ITs up to us to cover out butts and make sure we get what we pay for.

When i refunded it put a one word note with it. I know that you requested your money back and the money was placed on "temporary hold." Then I got on paypal and completed the reversal/refund and added my note. I'm embarrased that i forgot about it and I tried to send you the knob after the fact but I dont have an address to send it to.

The problem is people want everything stupid cheap. So if you include the 3% paypal on top then your items are over priced compaired to everyone else... and the buyer will ask for you to reduce it anyways... so it doesnt work. Which sounds dumb, but its true. Telling them the additional fee is for paypal seems to make it ok.

The only times I charge the 3% is when the items are expensive ($1000). I offer to take a Money Order, as you are still protected through your bank. But if you choose to use paypal instead, thats up to you. I think the real issue here is the high price for paypal. It costs almost $100 to wire transfer $3000??? Really? Money Orders cost less then $5... usually free.

I've also purchased stuff from people who asked me to use the 'gift' option and have never had an issue. It doesnt necessarily mean they are trying to scam you.

Then again, im usually pretty good at reading people... even online. So luckily ive never been scammed.
