Default My Dream Car.

Well, I finally did it. I sold my SOM 2002 Camaro SS and acquired my dream car...a 1969 Camaro! The body is solid, with new interior, new suspension all around, 10-year old paint, and NO RUST. It comes with a newly rebuilt 396/402 big block, never been fired up. Also comes with 3 TH350 transmissions and all kinds of new parts like starter, water pump, radiator, electric fan, headers, 2 distributors, etc etc.

Congrats! I would kill for a car like that. Get it cleaned up and take some more shots!

Wow, nice car. Get that thing put together soon! Are you just going to keep it stock-ish, or are you going to resto-mod it with wheels and stuff like that?

I am planning on keeping it pretty stock. I will convert all of the brakes to power disc, and possibly convert the transmission to a 4-speed manual setup. Everything else I am going to leave untouched. I might put some gunmetal Torq-Thrust wheels on there after the disc brake conversion, I don't know yet.

I think updating the suspension technology just like you mentioned would make that car PERFECT. Power disc brakes, wheels, tires and maybe some other suspension pieces would make for an even greater car...

I do love the rally wheels on a 1st Gen Camaro, so I may leave them alone. But yeah, brakes definitely have to be done. The rest of the suspension is all new, but period-specific. I will probably leave that alone, since I won't be road-racing this car!

Thanks guys. I had spent years looking for a good deal on a 1st Gen Camaro, by searching ebay, autotrader, and other sale sites. I stumbled upon this one on craigslist, and the guy only lived 15 minutes down the road! I went and checked it out, and decided this was the one. After that I put my 02 SS up for sale and a week later it was sold.
