Default im shooting fuses..

im putting in a aftermarket sony cd player in my car. i have a factory plug adapter & i have matched up the wires & colors. nothing is loose.

i plug it all up & turn the key to the acc. position, i turn it on & everything works fine.

it shoots fuses everytime i try to crank it only. i can turn the key to acc all day long & it wont shoot anything. i have no odometer readout & no running lights/tail lights or interior lights.

any suggestions?

Unplug the new head unit and see if it still blows fuses. If not then it's safe to assume that there's a problem with your wiring or the head unit itself.

It doesn't shoot anything with the factory radio in. I have checked my wires. It does work until I turn the lights on then it shoots fuses

Sounds like the radio is shorted internally

Are you saying its actually shooting fuses out? Take a vid if so. I'd like to see

Sounds like you got something wired wrong or a bad radio like Bird said. Take it to a professional. But get the vid first.
