LS6 intake a gain on an LS1?
I have a 00 LS1 street car with 3.73 , cat back and a good converter. I'm adding JetHot long tubes in the spring and want to avoid tearing the motor apart yet squeeze out extra power. Will an LS6 or aftermarket intake bolt on and add something? Of course should I do a cam swap later the intake will help - yes?

If you need to retain the EGR then I would take a look at the SLP LS6 intake which has a provision for your EGR. AIR is dependant upon your manifold / header. If it was me I would yank em both... but then again I am in Florida and they dont do inspections.

I have been looking at the flow #'s in the book Chevy ls1/ls6 performance. The flow #'s and hp #'s are better than i thought. On a stock set up 6-8hp can be expected, cam and heads have showed up to a 17hp increase. So if you plan on getting a cam its worth it.To me its not worth the hp to $ ratio yet, But it High on my list now.Im just waiting for all these other intakes to drive down the price of the ls6 intake.
