What's up everyone, names Justin, 19 years old from Texas! I race IMCA Modifieds, with 383 strokers and bored 350's, but looking into learning about LS engines. I have a 1989 Mazda RX-7 that I am doing an LS swap on, a buddy of mine has an engine he pulled from a 2000 Silverado, 5.3L, that I am picking up tomorrow morning for $150, the guy stated it had a miss so he replaced it. Looking forward to learning on here! Hope yal can help me out

I should probably give more details, my brother in law is leaving for the marines on sunday, and gave me the RX-7 to have a project car with. As for the LS engine, a guy i work with is letting it go cheap because he has no use for it and it has a "miss". He also has a T-5 which I am hesitant to buy because I have heard they are very weak, my father, Master Transmission/differential/rearend technician for 23 years, said it's a bad buy.

Here's my project
