spun rod bearing
so i just bought stock 99 ta with 140K. it was running fine today till i get to my driveway when i notice the oil pressure is dropping to like 25-30psi get it in the garage and i can hear a knock coming from the engine so right away i kill it. im 99% sure its the rod bearing so my question is will i have to go thru and have the engine redone or can i get by with replacing the all the bearings mind you this is my dd

who said anything about replacing the rod? while you are there upgrade to some better rod bolts. but just hope its not a spun bearing. does your oil psi needle bounce around or is it a steady 30 psi?

if the psi gauge is fluctuating thats a possible bad bearing. try to identify the noise, or make us a video so we can help better, it can be as simple as a broken rocker arm, what was the oil psi before you noticed it dropped? on my 99 my oil pump relieve valve stuck in the open position and i was at 0 psi.

use a stethoscope to listen for knocking. but i would say easiest thing to do first is drain the oil, inspect the drain bolt magnet and check the oil for metal and see if the metal is magnetic or not.
