Well, ive figured out what welder im purchasing, now its time to decide what compressor to get now. Im going to need a compressor capable of providing enough air to run an hvlp spray guy, and various air tools as well as sanders. I wont be using the compressor every day but I will be painting entire cars from time to time. I just need to make sure i purchase a compressor that will be able to keep up with this type of work. So let me know what you guys use or recommend. Thanks again.

Well, of the major/easily available bigger light industrial or light consumer grade compressors the only ones that are mostly US made are actually the US general compressors that Harbor fright sells (everything on them and the final assembly is made in the US besides the compressor head which is Italian, the rest, like IR, husky... are all Chinese made), and they appear to be decent compressors. I know that I would be looking at them if I was going to buy a new one right now.
I have an older (maybe 10y/o) craftsman professional series. Plenty of capacity for spraying and has been reliable, but the oilless compressor head is LOUD (though works well for spraying).

Im looking at a US General compressor as well. As far as CFM per $ they can't be beat. They appear well made when looking at them in person as well.

ok what size tank and what horsepower compressors are u using? Ive found several 60 gal compressors around the 6.5 horse range for well under $600.
