Default Flipped Motor Mount

I was trying to search around about this, but just wanted to know what is the purpose and benefit of flipping the motor mount and what is actually modded?

what is actually modded is the bushing. if you go look at your engine you will see a black thing on the car connected to a black pole like thing ( dog bone) to a silver metal thing next to where you put the oil in the car. well if u look where the dogbone connects to first black thing it actually connects to rubber. this rubber square has two black holes , on top and bottom. ( when u rev engine the engine moves up and down and goes into theses holes as a cushion so there is left ( feel ) of the engine in the cabin. well when u turn the black square to where the holes are now on the side the engine cant be moved anywhere. therefore making a "rougher" ride but the feel we like. it doesnt rlly do i noticed a small diffrence.

how much vibration do you get with the poly mount? ive been debating doing this, but didnt want to be annoyed by a ton of vibration.

Flipped motor mounts help on a lot of other w-body cars with 2 upper mounts, but with the torque created from the LS4, ditch the stock motor mount

I installed a poly mount on my friends GXP. There was a vibration felt in the low rpm range, but helped out a lot. I have another one for sale if anyone is interested, shoot me a pm

Bummer Man. My wife got pissed when I told her we had to put mufflers back on the Impala (we're installing a catless dp). It's her DD and she really likes the sound.

On topic, we're also installing a shorty dogbone with a urethane bushing this week when the tranny work gets done. I'll let you know how it feels!

My wife deals with my car. The open exhaust, the partly gutted interior, the awful paint, etc. I just say if you don't like it, don't ride in it.

Default flip mount

IMO the dogbone/polymount and shift kit are a must.

My wife HATES loud pipes!!! I removed the resonator on the Monte and she commented "what did you do to your car" (I did it w/o her knowing) I put duals and flowmaster 40 series on my 2500 HD with 4" tips on it and she almost refuses to ride in it, he dad commented that "Dave's truck sounds like a garbage truck" (he's a ford guy though) I love the sound though... I wish it was louder!

Y'all just gotta marry the right woman!! Just kidding! I had girlfriends in the past that didn't appreciate the sound of a nice exhaust system.

With our Impala, my wife especially appreciates a strong 4-2 downshift and the noise it produces. Of course, this is the same woman that took my 6-speed heads/cam/long-tube '99 Camaro SS down the quarter mile about 3/10th's faster than I could and got it into the 11's, so you see where she's coming from!
