Default Lee to the Phillies

Better than the Yankees I guess. The Rangers have no chance for another playoff run with their current pitching staff. Losing Cliff Lee is a huge blow. Nolan can figure something out though. But seriously what a ninja move by the Phillies. That organization seems to have more ***** than the Yankees. The Phillies are stacked with awesome pitchers now. They are going to be very successful during the next decade.

Didn't see that coming, but then again, as far as the Spankees go, I couldn't see Lee going to them with what Boston spent this year. They would have a more difficult time just making the playoffs let alone the WS. He did the right thing, it will be easier for him to get back to the WS as long as he was away from the AL East. Sucks for the Rangers, I thought they would get him.

Damn... the Phillies are stacked at Pitcher - that's gotta be the best rotation in MLB right now assuming Lee doesn't fall off.

Atleast the decision was made early and not last minute. I think the rangers can make the right moves to win the al east but further than that LOL.......

The Giants are the only ones in the NL to give them a good shot. Hey who knows what will happen next year tho.

Cliff is good but he isn't the end all for the Rangers (think I've said this before). The problem with him is when he's off he is a meat pitcher (look at his first 3 games as a Rangers and game 1 of the world series). His only strength is location with some above average movement. It just sucks b/c he is the one pitcher that could go 9 innings, and can teach alot to a young pitching staff. Oh well, C.J., Kolby, and Hunter are all fairly solid pitchers, we'll see who number 4 will be. Maybe we'll sneak in and trade for Zack Greinke, there's still alot of moves to be made. I'm not saying it doesn't hurt, I just think ESPN puts to much hype on the whole Cliff situation.

Hopefully this move will free up some money to beef up the bullpen. That has been a huge weakness for the Rangers. That and Michael Youngs errors. I still think it's time to get a solid 3rd baseman and make Young a DH.

owell, we can use salary elsewhere, its not like we didnt have guys that won us playoff games, CJ, Tommy Hunter, Feliz the closer.

We still have a good team, they got some veteran experience and will probably be in the hunt next year, theres still plenty of time to make moves. I believe there next hunt is a pitcher from KS Royals right?

Damn... so it obviously wasn't about hte money then because $150m in NY is worth about $140m and 120m in Philly is worth $116m so Texas was right there with them at 23m/yr compared to 23.2m and 20.0m/yr

I wouldnt say all that, I think he new all along that he wanted to go back to Philly after he was traded to the mariners and then spent some hot *** days in Arlington. Im sure the staff at Texas took care of him but he probably had an even better connection in philly.
