Default ARP Ultra torque Lube torque head studs to 80ft lbs?

I just got off the phone with ARP and told them I have the 134-4001 head studs and will be using there Ultra Torque Lube. I also let him know I have an LT1 with aluminum heads. Anyhow he told me it shows to torque it to 80ft lbs.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought this stuff was suppose to be slipperier(sp?) than their moly lube. Their moly lube I thought showed 65ft lbs with aluminum heads. Do you think he mistakenly told me 80ft lbs? Did you guys torque your heads this high with ultra torque lube? Thanks for any help.

You worry too much. It's just lubricant. Torque them to 80 ft. lbs. and be done with it.

80ft lbs with the moly stuff and stock castings? I wouldn't.

Agreed I worry to much. Slightly disagree about it being just lubricant. If ultra torque lube is just as slippery as moly, I don't understand why I would be torquing these nuts down close to what you would with W30. I'm going to be getting a bit more turns with this stuff at 80lbs compared to using W30.

Maybe I'm wrong though. What I just read about ultra torque didnt say anything about it being as slippery as moly, it talked about it being more consistent and a few other things. Guess I'll see how this thread goes.

By the way nice numbers in your sig.
