2001 Camaro SS (24k miles) custom paint and much more
Thinking if it's worth it to sell my SS. I love this car and it's one of a kind. I ordered this SS in late 2000 and has a perfect carfax plus I am the original owner. Car is always in a garage and I don't drive it much which is why the miles are so low. I built a 410 stroker for it but ended up selling that set up to buy a Supra. Well I decided to go back to a stock LS1 so I ordered a C5 LS1 crate motor from one of our forum vendors. So as of right now it has a light tune for the following mods
Motor:
LS1 crate motor with 1,000+ miles
LS1 manifold
K&N intake
ASP underdrive pulleys
Pacesetter LT coated headers
Pacesetter off road y-pipe
SLP D/D catback
Electric cutout that's coated (not installed)
Suspension:
Ordered car with 1LE suspension so it has Koni DA shocks
Eibach pro kit
BMR SFC powdercoated silver
BMR STB powdercoated silver
BMR Panhard rod powdercoated silver
BMR driveshaft safety loop powdercoated silver
Wheels and brakes:
iforged 2 piece evolutions polished 18" rims
BFG KDW2 tires with low miles
Brembo blank rotors crossdrilled/slotted
Brake calipers painted Steel Grat pearl to match car
Camaro SS silver/gray caliper decals
Transmission:
New T56 with 2,000+ miles
RAM 910 clutch
RAM PP
RAM billet flywheel
PRO 50 shifter and short stick
Interior:
Custom black leather seats with machine gunmetal inserts (matches exterior paint)
Dash from 01 WS6
Door panels from 01 WS6 with machine gunmetal inserts
SS SLP floor mats (ordered car with them)
SLP Hurst leather shift **** with H logo custom painted silver
Exterior:
Custom Steel Gray Pearl paint (car was taken apart and engine bay, door jams and trunk painted) $8,000 on paint job
SS/CAMARO/Chevy bowtie chrome emblems
Custom made Chrome nose badge
01 SS grill (ordered car with it) painted Steel Gray Pearl with chrome SS emblem
SS hood chrome insert
Clear corners with LED amber bulbs
Export tail lights
Billet fuel door
SLP CME rear valance
SLP CME exhaust tips)
Engine bay appearance:
Engine bay parts painted Steel Gray pearl
Engine bay parts powdercoated silver
Bolts and washers polished
I didn't install the SLP CME rear valance yet because I wanted to find a body shop that can mold it to the rear bumper for a clean custom look.
I am sure I am missing more stuff but that's all I can think of right now. Car is a 10/10 on everything! Just don't have time to enjoy anymore

Absolutely gorgeous. Is it worth it to sell?? Absolutely NOT! You will get killed financially and not even come close to what the car is worth. You may find a buyer to pay top $$ but I wouldn't hold my breath. Bad timing (holidays) and a limited 'cash' buyers market.

I would say the market would bring $17-19k based on how clean it is. It will prob take 6 months or so to find that person. The biggest prob is finding a cash buyer.
I don't know what you were looking to get for it, but i'm sure its more than $17k.

very nice ride, and one of a kind for sure. idk what you should ask tho, 6months ago i got my all original (bone stock) 2000 ss with 29k for 12g! and im the 2nd owner. car is gorgeous and i was shocked how cheap i got it for but with all the new hidious camaros running around now like civics, they ruined the value of our 4th gens. sell it in sping if you decide for 18k obo. great car, i love how you put the trans am interior in. i love my ws.6's interior over my ss. good luck!

After looking at my initial post back in 2010, my same advice stands even 2+ years later. You can never recover what you have invested in it. You are asking for an actual price and I believe you could be in the $13,000 -$14,000 price range for a 'private party' sale. The mileage will be very appealing to many. Another plus this time around is the non-holiday season, and it is the correct time to sell. The economy is slightly better than in 2010 but the car is also that much older. Loans will be tough to get for buyers on a 12 year old modded car and the cash crowd is still quite limited. If you do sell, be patient, and best of luck!!

^ this dude could gtfo
OP: once someone sees the car in person they will obviously tell the cars worth what ever your asking price may be (id say 18k like someone else suggested sounds about right, even though i know you have probably an easy 3Gs in the wheels alone.

Ignorance is bliss. Name anyone that will pay $5,000 over book value when so few are paying even $100 over for a modded car. Read these posts and learn something before slamming someone that tries to be realistic, and has been since this section started.

Well I appreciate all the opinions and when I have over $45K in the car I couldn't see my car being worth anywhere in the 13-17k range. I know a lot of people go by KBB but I would only sell my car to someone who can understand and appreciate every little detail that I have done to this car. Now if I was trading it in or selling it to a dealer then I would get nothing for the car. Been selling cars for a long time and we usually take cars in 4k back of book.
Thanks guys

I wish you the best of luck. Of course your car is worth way more than book. It's not even a matter of discussion, but has that been the real world selling prices?? NO! Not at all. That has NOT been happening from what I've seen here on LS1Tech since the March '08 crash. Just nothing being given for mods. Private sales, auctions, nothing. I don't expect you or anyone else to read pages and pages of posts here but it is a very real situation. There have been some really gorgeous heavily modded cars with similar low miles that have been asked about. Owners can't get $15,000 for them. That's real. No one has the cash, that's the problem. No loans on these cars unless you are well established which isn't the case for most people looking to buy a car like this. Again, real world situations. Uninformed posters are just getting people's hopes up, and to me, that is a real disservice to the owners and readers here. Are there exceptions for modded cars? I bet there are and that's what you have to hope for. Like you said, it's just finding that buyer who will appreciate everything you have done. Again , best of luck! I hope you find that buyer, just don't expect it.

Very nice car!! As what its worth- the market has really tanked with gen 4 camaros it seems. Low miles yes! clean yes! Rear end stock? Other mods could be even more- but still nicely done- i would say around 15-17k. so many people have no money right now it seems, and banks are gay
