Default can ls6 valve covers be swapped side to side?

hey i got a ls6 it of course has the center bolt style valve covers, my ls1 had perimeter style so i cant reuse those and i want to swap the oil fill hole to the drivers side i wonder if there is any clearance or other reason why this cant be done? i swapped them and spun the motor by hand and did not hear or feel any problems but i want to be sure.

They'll physically interchange as you've seen. The only issue would be any accessories (hoses, clips, harnesses) that might need to be moved around.

How in the hell are you going to fill the oil when the oil filler is under the windshield?

its in a 71 datsun there is no issue with room. however my air filter off my turbo does block the oil filler when its on the passenger side.
