The light keeps coming on saying oil change but the car has about 1500miles on this oil. It is Mobil one 5w30. The light has never come on before but after the last change it has come on then goes out then will come on again a day later. Is this common or does the LS1 know it needs a new batch of oil???
Any advice appreciated on this issue.

You need to reset the oil change light... turn the car to ON but don't start it.. then press and hold the trip/reset button for 15 seconds or until you see the light on the cluster turn off.
