I have used 5.0, 4.6 qa1 and upr k-members in foxbodys. I just made a drivers side header for a guy who wrecked his car we used a 4.6 upr k-member. I took a few pictures of the progress. http://www.dfwmustangs.net/forums/sh...9761#post59761

Yup. I've used granatelli, maximum, upr and seen QA1 used. Just have to modify a modular (4.6 or 5.4) mount and it bolts right up. Regardless of brand if the K member is for a 4.6 the gm motor will fit and work well with a tweeked ford mount. The pan I've used personally is the Fbody pan and/or the GMPP "car pan" which looks to be the same. Others have used other pans too with good luck. Truck pan clears but hang low.
If looking to go NA then the AJE and a couple others have headers designed around them which makes em a bit more desirable. If you're making your own headers or going turbo then everything is going to be pretty straight forward and purely choice/preference.
Personally I like the k members designed for the mustang with a 4.6 as they're built a bit beefier and better suited for daily abuse in my humble opinion. I have seen a few AJE k members crack and worse when driven on daily under a heavier vehicle. A good friend just replaced his AJE kmember he was running on his 04 Cobra due to cracks the eventually broke and as a result he tore up his PS lines and oil cooler in the process. Could of been much worse.
BUT in fairness to AJE, I don't believe their K member is intended for daily abuse.
