10 Second Club - So Close to 10's - Suspension ?'s

I have done allot of searching, and allot of reading... looking for a little input, maybe someone has a similar set up that I'm not finding.
How much would a set of Strange Double Adjustable Shocks on all 4 corners and 300# springs effect my set up?
I have a small cam / stall, consistently putting down 1.6x 60' spinning, she just doesn't want to hook, track prep isn't the greatest, less than ideal colder weather. Tires are getting heated to about 150 degrees.
My car on the second time out went 11.14, 11.10, 11.08, last pass was 11.07@124.33 spinning! First time out ran 11.4, 11.19, 11.42 spinning.
Tires right now trying to decide between MT Radial 275/50-15 or Hoosier Radials (haven't ordered yet) made previous passes on older 26x10.5-15 et streets.
LQ9 404cuin, build 4l60e, Circle D 3400 stall, 3.75 gears 466rwhp/446rwtq
Current suspension is: 50k mile Bilstien's front and rear, Eibach ProLine front Springs, 1LE rear springs with heater hose mod, UMI DA LCA's set on lowest hole of 4 of the Moser 9", UMI Torque arm set at closest hole to cross member, Spohn 1" bar, UMI 3pt sub frame connectors. I take the driver side front link out of the front sway bar and loosen the passenger side before going to the track.
End goal for the car will be 9.8'ish on NO2 in a year or more... at almost full weight, no real weight reduction has been done/will be done, will be adding a 10pt cage when they finally kick me off the track and I may have it mini tubbed in the process. The car is a hard top, I've never weighed it, I may switch back to the cloth interior vs the Trans Am Leather for a few pounds, I pull the spare and jack, empty all the stuff from the glove box and center console before going to the track and race on 1/2 tank gas.

I have BMR's all four corners and SLP Bils. I got 1.54's on MT DR's so you should be able to hook a little more. I'm shocked it doesn't back door into the 10's.

KC honestly when you bought my prostars with the et drags. My next tire was a ET street drag radial. Try a radial tire. I believe you will drop your 60' into the 1.5x if not lower. With my car cam only just a torqur arm, and relocation brackets and control arms i cut some 1.52's.

What tires were you running at the time and at what pressure? Also, I would take your LCA and put them in the highest hole possible on the rear end.

Carl, thanks for the quotes... I build this car in a year; bone stock to where it's at now, in that year a few of my investments have slipped that I'm addressing now and I have a year long vacation to Afgan, so I'm going to hold off on buying anything right now, except for new street tires... I'll remember you when I'm ready to heat up the Master Card though!

I was running on 26x10.5 ET Streets, but they're shot... one has threads showing! If I get any more passes in before Mid Feb they'll be on 315/35/17 ET Radials, I like the ET Radials... they'll be the next thing on the 15" wheels.
The 3400 Stall maybe killing my 60's but I did cut a 1.57 the first night out, so I have faith it's more in getting the suspension/tires dialed in.

Posted above, ET Streets at 14.5psi... it was a little chilly out that day, I should have dropped down to 12psi and ran one more pass but I had a mystery rear end noise and i knew the tires were SHOT.
I was reading some "suspension by MadMan" posts... I always thought the lower the LCA on the axle the better, but I'm going to raise them up. If Moser had the LCA brackets on a little straiter it would be nice to do this with out the Pinion Angle significantly changeing each time :bang:

I did this... not the highest but went up one... seat of the pants difference says it's planting the tires and lifting the front end alot more than before!

That is what it should be doing. Allowing the weight to transfer more. I have mine set like that and I am doing 1.40 60's

Well I'm in the 10's NA, little suspension adjustments and new tires.
10.96 and then a 10.93@124.62 2nd and 3rd passes
I heard some thing about needing a cage on the first pass at 11.04, I'll get the video and a picture of the slip up.

Thank you, I've only had the new motor set up out on the track 3 times all NA passes.
1st time out best 11.19 @121.99
2nd time out best 11.07 @124.33
3rd time out best 10.93 @ 124.62
Dropped .12 second time and then dropped .14 this last time, I think I could maybe get her down to 10.8 or 10.7x with a little more tweeking. She still has a little spin off the line, isn't leaving perfectly strait and a suspension more set up for street driving than drag racing

Maybe get rid of the front sway bar all together. It will let the suspension travel and transfer weight as much as possible. Front adj. shocks would help out a lot also

I took the front sway-bar off about two weeks ago, I've been driving around with out it on ZR1's and it handles better! I've read & heard that it handles like shit w/o it, with an iron block, bilstiens and lowering springs it felt like the suspension was actually working better independently than being tied together.
Strange or Afco Double Adjustable Shocks and Cage, along with a stand alone & NO2 plate system are in my future mods
I just might raise the LCA's up one more hole like you suggested, see if it won't lift the front end a little more.

Def heading in the right direction. Yeah I think it will pick up if you go to the top hole. Once you get your adj. shocks your gonna have to kinda start over again setting the car up. It will be fun regardless

JMHO - swap to a 275/60-15 next time. My old car loved the 28" tall tire. It became consistent and started carrying the front tires.

Hi!
I just wanted to give you another option for shocks. AFCO double adjustable shocks have alot more adjustability than the Strange shocks. With 44 clicks on compression and 24 clicks on rebound, you can really fine tune your suspension to get that "sweet spot" that your car needs to pull consistently low numbers. It's not unreal to have these cars in the low 1.3x to high 1.2x 60' times, depending on power supply. I can get you into a complete set of AFCO double adjustbles for around $50 more per shock than the Strange shocks, ( Call me for exact pricing ) and you'll also get our proprietary valving from AFCO when you order through us. This all isn't to say that the Strange shocks aren't good pieces. It's not unrealistic to run the same numbers on the Strange shocks, but in my eyes for just a little bit more money you can get a better built shock and the Tech support to keep you going.
Give me a call if you're interested. My number is 225-673-3533.
Thanks
Steve

I'm leaning that way, I have a buddy here in Jacksonville that just bought Afco Shocks/K Member and A arms through RPM, I found your suspension posts and it was allot to take in, but a little adjustment went along ways.
Just found out a cage is going to be about $3k for what i want certified to 8.5 though, so allot of things are going on the back burner, to get the car legal before the Shocks and No2 go on.

Hey, I hear ya! Whenever you're ready, just give me a call. I can get you an estimate worked up, or we can start ordering parts. I'm also available to answer any questions you may have, so feel free to give me a call whenever.

If you keep playing with it N/A and adjusting the suspension; you could probably get it running low 10.80's possible high 10.70's.
Of course that would have to be with the track being better than what it is on a T&T at Coastal; and the weather just as cool and dry as it was on the 15th.
