A little more info would be nice. Condition? 6 speed? Beaten to hell and back?? or clean highway miles car?? If you just want a general price www.kbb.com says a 'private party' fair condtion car is in the $4,000 range. You certainly don't want to spend too much more than that because of all the needs the car will have in the very near future. Imagine buying it for $4,000, then adding $1,000 - $1,500 in repairs or tires or mods in the next 6 months. Now you would have an even higher mileage car that will be tough to sell for that same $4,000. That's taking a real serious hit to the wallet. Be careful!
